TRACK OF THE DAY. Soul Wun - this guy gets it. At the least he gets me. His music seems to very much cater to my almost exact sensibilities. The music he's been putting out is soulful, there's some jazz notes, carefully chosen horns, all composed to a beautiful sometimes muddy baseline giving it a lo-fi house vibe. It feels nicely aged and mature yet from the bit I've read about him he's only 24 and seems like a chiller from Newcastle which kinda makes it even more dope.

Hard to go wrong with anything Rhythm Section puts out. if you're too cheap to buy the record and/or or lazy to walk down to your local record shop here's a link to the tune chube. I also love the use of Gill Sans font making it feel all avant garde n shit.

Some design work for Los Angeles based brand HOEM that came out today. The challenge with this one was finding a way to create something that felt graphic heavy feeling for a brand that's otherwise very minimal selling mostly high quality basics. Doing something that wasn't minimal, and more than just type based we needed a concept. I needed to think outside of comfortable garments, and expand on what being comfortable at home looks like. The solution was to incorporate furniture as it could thread into the brand but also make for a nice looking graphic element. What's more classic than a great chair and after looking through hundreds of them I narrowed it down to the one below.

Hand done whenever possible. If you've looked at some of my work you would know I love collaging and whenever appropriate threading it into commissioned work is a win win. Something about taking existing images and completely recontextualizing them to give new meaning is really satifstying.
