'IN YOUR FACE' by Sandro. I was working on publishing project with a print house and during one of our meetings the head marketing guy gave me a few samples to look through and keep. I'm 99% sure all were projects they printed. One of which was this dope large format spiral bound 'In Your Face' magazine by photographer & artist Sandro. I've never seen the zine before or know much about the artist but it's super slick. From the stock choice to super high gloss b/w printing and the images are incredible. A nice piece to have in the collection, if you ever see a copy grab it.
Going through some photography and art direction archive work I did for Studio Brewing during 2021 and 2022. It was a fun project exploring what brand imagery for a brewery can look like.
I made this mix a while back and the title still says draft. It was recorded live and I made 1-2 mistakes but never bothered to go back in and fix it. Maybe that's the beauty of mixing it live - RAW AND UNCUT. I find myself listening to this one pretty often as it hits as good in the afternoon as it does late at night. Have a go below.
BOOKS. Sergei Sviattchenko - Collage & Architectural illustration 2004 - 2012. Sometimes regarded to as the 'grandfather' of collage. The Danish Ukrainin is pretty old and some of his collages are pretty sick but not too sure about that tittle. Regardless, it's a nice book to have around and I've referenced it for ideas on occasion. Get your copy here.
Been a busy week so a little less posting...but here's a beauty of an album that's kept me going while grinding out. If you already know then good for you, but if you don't then this could be a nice treat. Yussef Jamal's music - it's Jazz but different, he's inspired by hip hop and that really comes through in some of the tracks. Being from London it's got a bit of grime to it. From what I read this entire album was originally played out as a boiler room set then after it was realized as this project. Listen here for the full thing.
A recent collage that's gone off to the printers to be printed at 5x4 feet. Love that large scale, it's gonna look sick. The 120 piece's on this one took a while just cutting and pasting it. 1/5 limited edition. Hit me on email if you want one.
